The future of self-regulation
The history of ANBIMA’s self-regulation shows that there are several differentials that have led the mechanism to a successful journey, holding legitimacy and recognition, both in the domestic and foreign markets.
However, in a dynamic market, it is necessary to always look ahead to anticipate trends. After all, just as important as celebrating advances so far is ensuring that self-regulation remains relevant in the face of transformations that point to structural changes in the capital markets.
There are several challenges: growing share of digital assets; intensive use of technologies and emergence of new business models; end of geographical barriers; emergence of new players, such as digital influencers who talk about investment; greater interest in ESG assets; investor’s growing search for information.
The list does not end here. The good news is that ANBIMA already looks at each of these topics to a greater or lesser extent, which may or may not become the target of self-regulation.
